Air-Lift Pump Challenge
The objective of this experiment is to test out how efficient the pump by using different parameters. We were tasked to design a setup using the Air-Lift Pump to test its functionality. The materials that were used are Air-lift Pump, U-Tube, PVC Tube and a bucket. This experiment consist of two parts.
Experiment 1:
In this experiment, we changed the length of "a". Starting from 2cm and subsequently increasing it by 2 cm each time till it reaches 10cm. We observed that the flow rate decreases as the length of "a" increases. The length of "a" is the length of the tubing inside the U-shape tube.
Experiment 2:
In this experiment, we changed the height of "b". Starting from 10cm and subsequently increasing by 2cm each time until we reached 20cm. We observed that the flow rate decreases as the length of "b" increases. The length of "b" is the length between U-shape tube and the base of the bucket.
